Hi all ! Ive been working a long time on sts 5000 creating lots of presets and pools, now that I need to work with xtc
I find the volkzsampler who doesnt read presets and pools.
years of work , out ! isnt there a way to bring the STS to xtc or bring the sts preset lists and pools to volzsampler ?

Renaming the preset file perhaps?

well, the amazing thing, is that unlike the other scope devices, the volkzsampler has no presets in and out, and no pool presets,
why ? an update would be welcome, just for that. The pool preset is'nt a gadget, it allows to have lots of banks under your finger available with program change, wich in a creative process , is very useful (same for presets) . Is there a programmer able to add these functionnalities, we could all contribute !

Hi IOZLAB

If you rename a dll to STS2000 you'll have it working under XTC BUT each presets are related to the configuration of all programs loaded(kind of a photography of all 16 channel at the time you created the channel.
You'll have STS2000 capabilities only.

thanks Michel, but I tried that, the renaming of a sts2000, or 3000 doest not shoe me the surface in the vst host (like I did it for third party synths>minimax, proone), it coudlnt load it...did I miss something ?

Hi IOZLAB

You missed nothing! The dll trick doesn't works for STS3000, 4000. Yet you can do it for the STS2000

Hi IOZLAB

I remember that you have either to put the STS2000 under your SFP/device/synth directory or expand the search environment to include your current directory

Hi Iozlab,

I was afraid you asked me! I made it such a long time that I had to search a while.... so here it is:
under SFP/app/bin you'll find scopevst.cfg. Open it with notepad and at the end of the file add a line for each path as:
ScopeSynth your directory path/*.dev

ex
ScopeSynth c:/sfp/devices/sampler/*.dev
or
ScopeSynth c:/SFP/MODULAR III/patches/*.dev

Best regards

thanks !!! I got back all my preset with sts2000.
it seems it loads the sts 3000 but the host doest show the surface, same for modular2, it sounds but you cant see or edit, right ? anyway, this xtc is getting quiet exiting!

Hi IOZLAB,

No, I have the graphic too
I guess something wrong with your setup which will require further discussions! I think we could go private if it doesn't hurt
in order not to lengthen this thread too much!
So let me know exactly what you get and we will try other tips

Nope - lets here your discussion. I only have the dll-trick half working here. For instance I can't make the STS-2000 or any Modular-patches work in XTC-mode. But I have other synths working which aren't deidcated XTC-synths.
So please continue and don't be shy

Hi all,

Sorry, I misread last IOZLAB mail. Thought its STS2000 didn't display. I don't have further tips for Modulat II or STS3000, 4000.

Best regards

Petal
I get all the Modular2 patches to work, by using the DLL trick on the patches individually

Yeah I know it works for some people, but I can't make it work here for some reason. Not that big an issue to me, still I find it strange that it works on some systems and not others. I wonder which programs has influence on this?

Do you put a copy of the renamed modular patch (i usepatchnameXTC) in the scope/devices/synths folder

It shows up in the SFP menu also, but you can ignore SFP if your in XTC mode...and keep a cleaner scope/devices/synths folder somewhere to change for the other if ya want to use SFP, then none of the renamed devices deviceXTC will be in the drop down menus in SFP
