would you buy a Zarg music Matrix 12/ XPander device?
I haven't had sex in months because of the Scope platform. This must stop. I just demo'd Solaris and now realize that this genius of a man mentioned that he has thought about emulating my beloved Oberheims!! I will have to have sex while I program I guess. Worked in the old days.
I had the choice of Synths in the 80's, and chose the Oberheims. But loved the Prophet VS, and Prophet 5 "0" series before the chip transformations occured, due to tuning instabilities. I thought that that gave them a fatter sound. But the CEMs' won and the rest is history. The buzz I often talk about in the OB's, Prophets, and CS-80s, never seemed to come out in 3rd party, or Creamware synths, so I thought. John Bowens little 2 voice demo showed me that HE has captured that energy that seemed to be elusive in other synths. I just pray that he tackles the Oberheims, for these are the synths that some of us cannot live without. Imagine a life without Creamware,PlanetZ, and John Bowen. Now thats depressing.

Fucking A Right!!
This does not pertain to the Oberheim buzz/drip I speak of,however, the CEM buzz/drip that I also haven't heard in synths of the VA nature, John has captivated without having Grunge,Saturation, etc. knobs. It's already there in the CEM emu, as in the Sequential Circuits sound character. If this guy can emulate SC CEMs' with that much acuracy,I'm sure Tommy O. would be flattered, as all of us should. I also would like to add that Johns' immediate, and detailed response is a model that I wish other companies would at least make an attempt at. I could not have dreamed of having Bob Moog, Don Buchla, or Tom Oberheim contact me on such a personal level. I am honored and impressed with this company more than any company I have ever made any purchase from, including cars, household appliances, etc. The big 3 in Japan better hope that Creamware, John Bowen, and Bill Gates never merge. I would enjoy watching them sweat, while upgrading their consumer line that they seem to think is pro level.
Tonight I Will Pray To Muhammed, Buddha, Allah, And Jesus, That JB Tackles The Elusive Oberheims.Sorry If I Missed Any Gods.

those presets (and a few more) are distributed with Solaris by John.
Carl did a remarkable job on those (imho some of the best presets ever because they are sooo well focused).
I think they really represent his passion for this synth (as he himself wrote elsewhere)
and yes, John Bowen rules - even better: he still surprises
cheers, Tom
of course I'd buy a Zarg XPander - despite the fact that I definetely don't need any more synths...

WOW!
What can I say (blush)! What very nice comments to have...thank you all!
Hmmmm, the Expander was a pretty huge beast - but then, this Wave emulation was pretty complex as well.
It would take some doing, and I don't think the stock modules would do...I'll have to do some in-depth research before I can say one way or the other on such a project.
cheers,
John B.

Dear John,
I hope you're not mad at me for the leakage. As you can see, we are feverish. What a bunch of synth junkies we are.
I have most schematics on the Oberheim family, if I can be of any service please send me a note.
Just recently MIDI'd my new ( used ) Matrix 12 w/ Xpander, I wasn't surprised by the obese layers. I bought it used for 1500 USD, and am frantically searching for spare parts. It looks battle-worthy like my XPander. If I could just leave these at home.....hmmm.
May The Force Stay With You,

May The Force Stay With You,
Creamware should thank you, I'm buying another Pro card, not the Project. I'm kind of wondering about my 2 slot PCI Supermicro now. Take me to external module land, and I will follow. I could just imagine ... An XPander ASB....Wow!!! ( 4 x ) 3" x 5" LCDs with rows of real time knobs with 6 Sharc 200 MHz DSPs. It sure is fun to dream though.
At any rate back to the Solaris. I've spent the entire evening with a 2 voice synth. I must be crazy, I'm buying Solaris the second I quit typing this. I will never insult you again by asking for a demo. My girlfriend has made me watch her daughter and friends tonight while she goes to work at a new club. You know I didn't even sneak a peek at the these little babes, they are all 16,17! Last spring before my Scope auditions, that would have been like asking Colonel Sanders to watch your chickens for the weekend. I am a changed man. The Matrix 12 was my last hardware purchase. As long as you keep making these acurate emulations, I am in your camp.
