new generation cards

Does creamware is going to come up with new generation cards in this year? do you know anything about it?

hi

can i buy the sharc dsp 200mhz and
replace one by one im my 4 creamware cards?
(i need 39 dsp)

the future update will work with the old
sharc 60 mhz dsp?
Creamware can i have all the fixes and some improvements for the current Software scope 4.0 before the new cards?
or at the end scope 4.0 is the final update
for the current cards???

What are the faster sharc dsp's used for at the moment? - is there another audio platform that uses these?

It is used in the the new ASB-units, and it has been hinted that the SFP4 has been ported and proved to work on the new DSP's.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I know of those - I meant are they used on completely another platform? (I mean not Scope). AFAIK these chips have been around a while (I heard of "tiger sharcs" ages ago - well before ASB) and I can't believe they were developed just to provide power for a couple of new Creamware units anyway so what other apps are they used in if any?

TigerSharcs are a completely different product line targeted at industrial, medical and telecom applications, where budget doesn't matter (simplyfied).
They are not code compatible at all with Sharcs.

If the chips in the boxes are 200 MHZ, there are only the ADSP-21262 and 21266.
The difference is the on chip Rom, which is empty in the 21262and (at least partially) preprogrammed with audio decoders in the 21266.

This Rom makes it particularily easy to setup stand-alone solutions as no dedicated microcontroller is needed anymore

the majority of applications is the quality segment of car and home entertainment systems, which count in 100k quantities, while DAWs are really just a niche.

The Mackie Spike probably contains such a Sharc, too.
