Hello knowledgeable pulsar tech geeks (algorhythm is back from the ashes):

I am a dinosaur with a PIII 933mhz CUSL2-C 512MB in a custom rackmount chasis with a 2 card 7dsp (pulsar I + luna II) and Matrox G450 Dualhead running XP.

I want more native processing for audio and photoshop and don't want to get all caught up in searching this time around. I want 2 or more Ghz, 1GB or more RAM, native firewire and ethernet ports that is a known good-working combination with our beloved audio hardware. I plan to buy a MB+CPU combo + RAM off of pricewatch.com and have US$250 (or less!) to spend.

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance. Peace.

Well, this MB is recommended by Creamware and it's really cheap too:

I don't think that's got on-board Firewire though. That's the bit that's stumping me at the moment...

To continue petal's proposition: 1 GB Corsair ValueSelect or Kingston ValueRAM.
