Hello John

I would like to propose to open a new forum with several basic categories or subdivisions in it - Please Z people, read and give your opinion…

Allow me please to explain the reason:
When you look and read throughout the entire Z forum, you’ll find dispersed pieces of valuable knowledge about hardware and software, practically everywhere, in all the forums. These dispersed pieces of priceless information describe items, functions, problems, version bugs, comparable qualities, prices, usability, compatibility issues and so forth. When explaining in such a detail how it would work such and such piece of hardware or software with our SCOPE boards, we are, perhaps not intentionally, “reviewing” those items, actually.

I think there is neither better knowledge base nor better reviews than those you can take from your fellow users here, at the Z, as they will have similar results in the real everyday work environment, obviously, as we all use the PC for music recording, and with similar setups, at least basically similar in their foundation, these reviews can be superb to us all.

Practical example:
A few days ago there was somebody having problems setting up a double boot system. Some people had already talked, and quite extensively including myself, about double boot systems and quality software to achieve it. Users gave their opinion anew about this or that partition software, but the knowledge gets too dispersed to find it fast and easily, despite the fact that the Z search engine is great and highly efficient, but for those who know what they are looking for, exactly. So as I say, the seeker doesn’t know what to do, topics tend to repeat themselves with new but similar questions and answers. It is not always obvious to find the answers you want, especially if you are new as you don’t know the tech jargon yet. New comers get lost. What he is looking for may be explained in different terms, and so, it is a bit difficult to go for a successful search. And we have to add to it that it becomes perhaps too slow to find answers this way. You know the answers ARE actually written into the databases, but you can’t remember where… The Z is already a big place, and is becoming bigger by the minute.

Another reason I would like to give to support my enquire about creating a new forum, is that it would be very nice to have it at hand, and see what people is constantly finding out about new software and hardware, reviews of my own fellows will be for sure, greatly appreciated and read with passion and enthusiasm. I propose to call this forum

“Soft & Hard Reviews”.

I also propose the following subdivisions:

“Hardware”

And

“Software”.

Before all, is it possible doing it for you John, do you think it is a good idea and it is feasible? Z People, that’s it, what do you think?

Cheers for your attention

I personally don't see a need for more forums. If anything could offer more value - apart from php update which I consider unrealistic is...
Anyone having the courage to write comprehensive articles like the ones that were on the original planetz Pulsar pages? I think such page updated could be of great value, but it takes so much time to write...
more has been done with less

I didn't realise it was so much work to build it. I thought about it as a copy procedure, getting some sort of ccs or similar, and then link them toguether. Well, this is just my ignorance about these matters.

I still hold for the idea, if it is posible, as things don't need to be done from one day to the other. Even if it takes months to become real, I still think it could be nice.

Atom, what kind of articles are you reffering to, do you remember one of them or could point out a link? Cheers

You can find similar suggestions to yours under Scope Study. We were all too busy. It's a good idea. Getting someone to do it for free? Unlikely......

I wish I new how to... but I don't. I can do some flash programming, but this is it for the moment, and a very basic PHP understanding.
