Well, as I am rebuilding my computer, I have tryed the last version of Disk Director Suite, to my surprise... I'm sorry to tell this software is not secure yet, and has many problems.

If you are planning using a boot manager software, by all means go with PARTITION MAGIC from PowerQuest! Play save!

I have used PartitionMagic for about 7 or 8 years already, since version 1.1, everyday, to my joy! If you consider getting a serious piece of software to partition your drives, to do back-ups and, most of all, a truly secure multiple boot system, go PartitionMagic.

I know Symantec has taken over it, but it is still a VERY good and reliable piece of software.

Just in case...

DO you have any more details? Problems? I have Acronis on my machine and have already done a backup - just haven't had to use it to recover (hopefully never).

Thanks,

Greg

I have done a research reading all about it in the web, most of all reviews. People were not very happy with it and finished almost all reviews saying that PartitionMagic wipe it in a single pass. No comparison.

I perhaps was impressed by the interface of Disk Director Suite 9.0, and all the fuse about it’s new useful features and possibilities, downloaded a 30 days demo and installed it in a PC I have nevertheless to format and rebuilt. Well… the mater is that sometimes his OS Selector would work, and some times would not. Suddenly it would deactivate itself without reason and without prompting me about it. Then it would slow down start-up. It didn’t perform as suggested. I took the precaution of watching if there was something wrong with the installation or something, so I restarted the process entirely with “another computer”, exactly the same behaviour.

Acronis Disk Director Suite 9.0 is an unfinished piece of software and nobody that wants to sleep well and live a long life, should use, till they fix quite a number of EXTREMELY important issues. All around, they were perhaps 10 or 12 defects that make of it, a beautiful interface with a killer inside. Do not use it! If you only partition your drives, ok. But if you do double boot, please, forget about it or you’ll have big headaches.

I whish I had more time to explain you this all, but I have already uninstall it, and unfortunately, can’t go back now. Hope this helps.

I’ve done father research in their forums, and people seem to be quite disappointed to this particular product.

Nevertheless, I have to be fair, they have many other products that are TOP of the range, like Acronis TrueImage, which I have used actually, for about 6 years already, with more than excellent results, perfect results! So I don’t want to discourage people from using Acronis altogether, only warn them about Disc Director Suite 9.0 which definitely is not ready to be used.
