convert utility
Hi,
Is there any utility that converts akai to sts?
(sts program with waves) I saw on chicken systems'website this message:
Pulsar/STS Translation Status
This refers to translating to .p and .s files of the original Pulsar. .p+.wav combinations will be available shortly, as well as the new .sts+.wav combination.
Any other programs that convert akai to sts?
(paste as sts in the sfp browser is not an option for copying cd's)
thanks

Load the akai into it from the file browser, then do a "Save As Volume..." et voilá!

edit: this is of course somewhat long-winded if you have loads of samples to convert...

Well you didn't say you wanted the whole disk converting at once. It will convert the whole disk but just one partition at a time - I don't know why it won't select multiple partitions at once but its never been a big deal to me - it still does the same job and with a bit more precision perhaps (I always find converting a whole disk at once to any format is a pain as you are left with AKAI's stupid directory structure that way).
Anyway - maybe try CDXtract? It says here it does convert the prgramme and sample (STS)

CDXtract does the job, but it uses the old STS filenames - *.p for program and *.s for samples, instead of *.sts and *.wav.
Other than that, the converted samples load fine.
I've asked the CDXtract guy to address this a long time ago, and he said it would be done. Maybe some more pestering is in order.
