This module goes between the Modular midi port and the MVC midi input.
It has a value to set the number of the voices sent to MVC for each note, obviously there must be at least the same number of voices available for the patch.
Unzip the file in your SFP folder. It adds 2 dsp files, and the module will be found in the MIDI subfolder.

but adding several unison voices without slighlty detuning them, is not equal to play the same note at an higher volume? (since you are adding n identical voices all in phase and in tune between themselves)
It uses another principle that is a natural shortcoming of MIDI protocol, transformed in a positive thing.....
It simply doubles (or more) the incoming MIDI messages, and, as it's known midi messages are always in sequence, chords are never played in the same instant for all notes.
So, what really happens, is that all the voices assigned to a single note are slightly phased each other, and the thickness effect is very evident. Even if the same note, they are all played in the number of voices displayed.
I am not at all into synth making, but wouldn't you get the same result with 6 small 2-10ms second delays (or something else small) at a fraction of the DSP consumption?
I think that a polyphonic generation all over the synth(osc's, filters, modulations etc.) will give a different result, not better or worst, just different, and probably more similar to the original thing. I don't know how unison is implemented in the CWA stuff, but I wouldn't swear it's a different way than this one...
In simple resource consumption, delays have their effect, on pci bandwidth too....
1. load empty modular patch and set 6 voices poly
2. drag Unison module in patch and connect midi in cable to unison midi in and midi out cable from unison midi out
3. load other device ( Minimax, Ligtwave or other synth ) and connect midi in to midi output modular patch and select poly voices 6
4. Change unison value 1.2.3....
I think that setting of polyphony in modular should not be necessary, midi modules just pass midi data as they come.
You only have to rise polyphony in the receiving synthesizer and 6 is just the upper limit of the module, you can naturally set less voices if you need or are limited to less.

Whereto have I to copy the dsp files exactly. There is always a falilure. XXX dsp not found.

A few little suggestions/ideas: How about a stand-alone not-modular version for us lazy weeps (also would make the routing screen a bit cleaner I guess, even tho I like my routing window a bit messy)?
Also, any way to make the "delay" between the notes configurable/adjustable? The Nord's Unision has that, it's pretty crude (you can adjust between "1" and "9" I think =P), but still way nice/useful.
(And if you want to make it extra-evil, make the delay controllable with MIDI CC =P =P I'm having really dirty thoughts just thinking about it!)
I'm finding if I set the Minimax to 6 and the detune to 6 I can only play monophonic but if I set it to 8 and the detuner to 4 I can get some really fat pads.
