I'd appreciate someone taking pity and helping with what must be a simple thing.....

XTC instruments are running fine and at 3ms ULLI are very playable BUT

If I use XTC effects sends I get 'flamming' -every beat and note has a noticable doubling effect - presumably because I am hearing the original and the returned, effected signal

I am using the default XTC project (I assume - as I haven't changed anything - BTW is this XTCproject.pro or XTC.pro?)

What do I have to do to my routing to hear just one signal? Will I lose timing (build in delay) if playing live overdubs in doing this?

no XTC on mac, and I don't know your skills, so I'm just guessing, but it could be you have to turn the Dry knob on the effect to off

Yeah - That'll provide a botchy workaround for one or two XTCfx, but isn't really solving it - though I appreciate your suggesting it.

I still need to change the Pulsar routing to NOT HEAR the original signal, I think, so my original questions remain - anyone? C'mon you know you know the answer...

don't know your problem, but it's xtcproject.pro.....

do you have software monitoring enabled? xtc plugs should be automatically latency compensated.....

Thanks for the .pro identification.

I think software mon is ON.

Someone told me that the XTCfx always have delay (Seq>Card>Seq) but that the trick is to fiddle with the routing so you can't hear the original signal, but

a. I don't know how to do this and

b. If I could I worry I'd get a clean, but slighty delayed signal, meaning subsequent audio overdubs will be late, and if they're then effected...even later...into a vicious spiral.

Any ideas Pulsar Gurus?

I'm not a Pulsar guru, but I know for sure that SX1 doesn't support Plug-in Delay Compensation on send effects (only inserts and synths). You have to compensate for it manually, with the appropriate Creamware plugs.

xtc mode is more fit for mixing than production anyway. use scope mode and monitor the scope mixer. it's way easier routing, flexability, set up, and 1/2 the latency.

1. Yep - XTC fx work fine as inserts but not sends - Thank you! My XTCis are fine (as long as I change ULLI settings and back again each session)

2. Would SX2 give me working XTCfx as sends?
Any other advantages (always reluctant to 'upgrade' unless good reason.)

3. Does the 'XTC delay module' thing work with sends in SX1?

4. I'll get round to 'proper' use of Pulsar environment one day....

also, you need to disable the dry output in send effects(100% wet)
