HI all.
I’m new in this forum and new also in sound card information.
I decide to buy a multichanel sound card to use it for a small surrounding project to encoded finally in Dts.
I’m really confusing between, [SCOPE home + 8 Channel I/O Box & MOTU 828MKII], I know that this forum for Creamware stuff but I really need advise from professional people, concerning this 2 sound card, I have a budget for ~ 800$ so witch one should to go for. My friend use RME multiface and he’s so happy, but it’s expensive for me right now.

Best regard.

Hi,
if you're on a budget I think you should consider getting a Scopehome with the ins and outs firewire box that's being offered, however there's also the new MOTU traveler which is firewire, therefore can be hooked to a laptop or thru any computer provided there's a firewire interface and it's portable can be used stand alone. The latter is slightly more expensive but consider the advantages of portability and other features, cheers..

ps: hey,if you bought scopehome, you would still have 300 or less euros for something else and it sounds great too, it's a bargain, providing the offer is still available.

Thanks for reply.
About the price I’m going to buy:
Limited Special: SCOPE home + 8 Channel I/O Box for just 555 EUR.
I understand that most of forums users have creamware product, and it will be hard to compare with other brands but I need technical advice. Like comparing from professional people.

Best regard.

hi,
the most important thang to consider are the converters, try and compare those of Scope to those that ship with MOTU and the dynamic range should be around 110 db the higher the better, dsp's etc.. If you wanna get into details. When it comes to sound I think Scope should be able to match MOTU or even surpass it, yet both have to be tested on a benchmark, but MOTU is packed with almost everything, balanced in and outs, adat etc...

ps: again, I'd go for Scope for the bargain.

Get the Scope/Luna box combo, you'll never regret
Soundquality, routing, included instruments and overall flexibility are really great

yep.
in fact, i'd tell you to just bite the bullet and get a project, a much better deal for all the extra software, even after buying an ad/da. the behriger ad-8000(8 i/o plus 8 mic pres with adat connectors) at $200 is as good sounding as the motu.....
