Re: ADAT to Scope PCI to Xite ADAT

So you like to take part in the conversation.

I like your attitude, so you are saying if you don't do your job right, it is another person's fault, you blame the songwriter?

Are you saying that doing your job right is perfectionism, the normal case is to not care?

Great character.

Re: ADAT to Scope PCI to Xite ADAT

Send an audio file like a drum loop to a channel and the same audio via a dsp delay line to a second channel and mix them. With 0 samples delay the audio just gets louder. With 1 sample delay, it is still the same. But with 2 samples delay I can hear a degradation in the high frequencies and in the ...

Re: Phasefix & Phasefix X

@Eliam. Could these devices be used as stereo imager? That would be awesome... These are simple dsp delay lines. So yes you can delay one channel of a mono source to create a pseudo stereo sound what is known as Haas effect or precedence effect. The problem with this method when the source is a mono...

Re: Copy protection error Xite-1

Have you tried different outlets in the whole house or just in the same room?. Because all outlets in a room in general come from the same channel in the electrical panel. Perhaps you can find an outlet in the house that is better.

Re: Phasefix & Phasefix X

Yes it's pretty expensive but for me it is worth it's money. It gives plenty of dsp juice. With the sdk it is an engineer's heaven. My i-5 laptop rarely reaches above 10%, this keeps it quite and responsive. I load anything I may need in scope. My PCI cards still work. I use them for my electronics ...

Re: Phasefix & Phasefix X

@atom In Xite you can't imagine how powerful is each dsp. Each one allows ~6500 cycles. In the Scope PCI not so much but enough to be able to design audio consistencly without surprises. I'm not sure where such a shell is. I have one in my library. Perhaps I'll upload it someday unless some other sd...

Re: Phasefix & Phasefix X

@Atom

You can get a modular shell that is locked in a specific dsp. This will allow all modules loaded in this modular shell to be loaded in the same dsp.

Re: ADAT to Scope PCI to Xite ADAT

My friend when I post in this forum I am very careful because I know the story. Let me clear a bit the mist. You reply (before I make any posts) in this thread as Still important to correct this offset (a few samples) if you're doing parallel processing. GaryB reply: only for some music. with hardwa...

Re: ADAT to Scope PCI to Xite ADAT

Valis latency is not a phase offset, because phase is related to a copy of a signal to itself or to an elementary waveform described as a mathematical equation. Latency is a delay of a signal. Two uncorrelated signals have no phase relationship to one another. With multiple mics there are phase issu...

Re: ADAT to Scope PCI to Xite ADAT

"audio has not moved forward one iota since" Gary why are you insisting? They are not the same and please keep your ignorance to yourself. You can't understand the difference between latency and digital phase. We are trying to get better. It is not a matter of seeking "perfection" or of being dogmat...

Re: ADAT to Scope PCI to Xite ADAT

Gary you should differentiate between analog and digital domain and when that stuff matters. If you process signals serially without doing parallel then there is a constant latency of the audio path (which is negligible with analog devices and cables anyway) that can be compensated by dragging the a...

Re: ADAT to Scope PCI to Xite ADAT

This (what I previously wrote) does not concerns particularly scope but any digital interface. The one sample pulse is harmless for the monitors but they are just for testing purposes better observed graphically no reason to send these to the monitors. About the other stuff you are talking I'm not s...

Re: ADAT to Scope PCI to Xite ADAT

Some tips not related completely to the thread but about the "offsets" Still important to correct this offset (a few samples) if you're doing parallel processing. I strongly believe in this. If you put ASIO in dsp 10 ( the enumeration fits the sdk, I think its "9" in the Scope software) and a mixer ...

sorry man I just didn't find fascinating the music result. Just an opinion according to a musical taste and some thoughts here and there.
But do you disagree that "a man's head can only do a number of things"?

Re: sequencers

What do you mean independence? You like your arps to be with their own tempo? Record something with the arp let's say 130 bpm and then change the bpm to 120 and enjoy some excellent non-synchronised tunes.
