Re: B4000 current firware
Hey Gary,
Thanks.
I don't have any "steppy" effects but I would rather preempt reporting any issues to TS by keeping the firmware current.
Going to blow the dust of the Xite-1. As it's been about 8 years in storage, should I think about replacing any Lithium batteries that may be inside?

Question for GaryB
What is the current firmware for the B4000 ASB? What date was it released?
How do I check the version in my B4000?
Thanks.

I think serial number might b a guide.
Is there a database of users' Xite-1 units. Like a register or something?
I will publish mine here with purchase date.

Re: Good Weighted Keyboard That Is Not Heavy?
The math is 88 x weight per key + case and electronics.
88 x 3oz = 264oz or 16.5lbs (7.5Kg)
3oz is a good weight for a good feel. Weight, length of key and pivot point are the factors that determine touch.
Not all actions have a return spring especially the grand piano style action which uses ...

Dragon,
Can you include support for polyphonic aftertouch/pressure?
This is a very neglected aspect of MIDI. Especially useful with Modular.

Re: Original B4000 by Creamware
Thanks Guys.
I have heard some pieces by Greenslade and the late Keith Emerson (RIP) which sounded like poly percussion. I know Kieth used an L100 but from what I have read on the Hammond website they had similar percussion system. I'm pretty sure Dave Greenslade (Spyglass Guest track1) used a B-3 ...

Original B4000 by Creamware
Hi All,
It's been a while but now I have my Xite-1!
I've donated all my gear (complete studio actually) to my nephew and have reduced my DAW to an Xite-1, Alesis QS4, Creamware B4000 and Midex8. Oh, and my trusty Elka MK88! Running Cubase VST32 v5.1
My question is about the B4000 percussion setting ...

Hi Gary,
Thanks for taking the baton on this one.
Yes, scope was running when I start Cubase.
So how do I choose ASIO now?

Re: ASIO, Cubase 5 and Xite
I don't think it gave me a choice.
One of those screen clips has "ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver" so is that not ASIO?
The first message is when I start Cubase, with Scope already running.
Here is the "project". Just a test setup for Audio out to Cubase.

ASIO, Cubase 5 and Xite
I have now installed Win7 64 and Cubase 5 (SX) along with Scope 5.1.2709 x64
I can't get the ASIO output of Xite to connect to Cubase.
When I start Cubase I get this error.
And the other 2 pics are the ASIO setup program supplied with Cubase and the ASIO setup from within Cubase.
Anyone seen this ...

Re: Cubase 8.5 users?
Thank you all for those insights. Some of the tips are a bit beyond my current knowledge of the product though!
Looking at all options but as you say, it depends on my workflow which is also undergoing a re-think!
Again, thanks,
Eric

Cubase 8.5 users?
As an avid Cubase fan since the Atari days, I am looking to purchase Cubase 8.5. The Steinberg site is full of "what's new in Cubase 8.5" but not much in the way of product specification. As I will be using it with Xite-1 There's a lot I don't need or want. I want a good MIDI sequencer and Audio ...

Re: MIDI I/O for Xite
Thanks, all.
Very useful info, especially about 64bit driver for Midex8
Only just got the Xite but have been using scope for quite a few years and still have Lunar, Pulsar and Scope 15DSP cards.
Downsizing from 80's style MIDI outboard gear to DAW. I may still run Cubase VST5.2, on a separate Micro ...

MIDI I/O for Xite
Just about to get Xited.
Does Scope 5 run on Win7 64bit?
Will Scope 5 see my Steinberg Midex8 ?
Will Scope 5 run on a Virtual Machine, like VMS?
I hope the answers are all yes but I am an optomist.

Re: New in SDK ! Help for some question...?
Hi JoPo,
Glad you got it sorted. I'm getting SDK5 soon and have a quick question for you.
Does it actually come with official manuals? My SDK4 didn't, in fact some one here was writing one.
Don't mean to hijack this thread so will search for that thread separately.
I'm sure we will speak again ...

SDK is a special version of scope.
I have both installed on the same computer. Just exit one and start the other.
