But if I buy just the Pulsar board itself, does it have any MIDI or audio ins/outs on it, or do I have do buy a seperate 'I/O hub'?

Thank you,
Luke

Originally I was going to buy Audiophile 2496, Delta44 or Echo Mia card for recording, but I think I'm going to go with Pulsar. The question is can Pulsar be used for all the things the above can? E.g. recording, playback of audio? If so how many audio in/outs are there on Pulsar? Currently I'm runn...

I started playing with the Reaktor recently. I like the idea, but the sounds are, imho not as good as true harware synths. It's also quite slow. I'm wondering how does Modular 2 compare to Reaktor in terms of sounds quality, speed, capabilities? Finally, can Pulsar's DSP be used to speed up Reaktor?...

Hi Luke (Lucjan?) No, Luke  Even more: adding a 2nd generation card (Pulsar II, Pulsar XTC, Luna II, new Scopes) to an existing 1st generation one (say, Pulsar I) gives you better (read.:lower) latency (the so called ULLI) which makes your work more exact. Hope you know what I mean. P.S. The...

OK, thank you for the advice. But I thought that AMD761 was no longer being made? Maybe I'm mistaken?

Hmmm.. from what I see Pulsar I has 4 DSPs while XTC has 6. My point is that if one already has Pulsar and later adds XTC, will the pulsar not have the power of 10 DSPs? I don't know what you mean by 'downgrade', seems to me like you're adding more processing power. Maybe you misunderstood me, I mea...

I'm relatively new to DSP baords, as you probably notices )) I'm wondering if there are any good alternatives to Pulsar? Ones that also have synth/modular synth capability, mixer, effect and a sampler? I'm mainly into trance music, so any board better suited for that (but not at a higher pric...

Well, I'm about to buy Athlon XP system (no I do not want to go with P4 . I was considering VIA chipsets, but there seem to be a lot of problems with audio cards and VIA chipsets... what are some of the alternatives? I would like to have RAID, fast EIDE interface, at least 6 PCI slots and AGP...

Is it possible (and how much does it cost :--)) to upgrade regular Pulsar board with Pulsar XTC? (If not then what else is there that's not too expensive). Or is XTC some different version of Pulsar made to work only with Cubase, not as Pulsar upgrade?

Thank you,
Luke

I'm learning Sonar, right now and I'm wondering if I should get and learn Cubase instead... is Pulsar strictly for working with Cubase, or will it also work with Sonar?

Thank you,
Luke

Hi there, I'm new to this list so first of all I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I do not currently own Pulsar yet, but I'm considering buying one very soon (most likely PulsarI for starters). My question is what can I expect from Pulsar running on Athlon XP Model 2000 w/ 512 MB RAM? Could I for ...
