Cubase Mediabay versus Logic Preset Library tab

Post by Ben Walker »

Hi all,
I'm sure some here are familiar with Cubase AND Logic.

Is there any way to get Cubase's Media Bay to behave in a similar way to the Preset Library tab in Logic.

What I really like about the Library tab in Logic is that
a.) It's permanently dockable to the side of the screen.
b.) It's context sensitive - so it will only display presets for the instrument whose track is currently selected.
c.) You can search for a preset by name.

When I'm using Cubase and want to browse presets for a particular VST instrument, I really don't want to have to open the Mediabay, find the instrument I'm currently playing, and even then I can't search the presets by name.

I'm currently using Cubase 5 - are things any better in 6? From the screenshots it doesn't look like it.

Am I missing something very obvious?

Thanks,
Ben
