Is the usb 2 option available? And does the z-link work with a regular 1394 card? I have a 2 pulsar 1's in the main tower in the studio and know i could hook those up via lightpipe.... But i want to take the thing on the road (use with my laptop)and maby use it with a card like this... http://www.orangemicro.com/pccardcombo.html

No USB option yet (AKAIK should be USB 2.0 when implimented) Z_Link uses a firewire cable but that's where the similarity ends, it uses Creamware's own protocol (RME do a similar thing with their newer cards and I/O's) so it won't work via Z-Link without a Creamware card also equipped with ZLink.
USB will only be for setting the A16's patchbay options. It will control how it works when no Pulsar OS is running. Audio will not be transferred via USB.
That's how understood it from the site... may be wrong thou, that would be better
