Hi,

I've got an A16 Ultra and put it into a wooden desk which has a rack for 19" units.
Left and right there is about 2-3 mm space between A16 and desk, and above and below of the A16 there is 12 mm.

I noticed that the A16 becomes rather warm.

Questions:
Is 2-3mm space enough for the ventilation openings of the A16 Ultra?
Has anyone noticed problems with an A16 as frying pan ?

Thx in advance,
EC-HQ

I can not answer your question, but I can note the obvious: Wood (and especially the amount used for making a desk) isolates heat musch better than metal or a thin plastic rack.

What do you have mounted above and below the A16? If you have something that generates a lot of heat, you might want to put some breathing room between the devices. Or else, mount a small whisper fan behind the rack to blow the air around. I put a rack space between the A16 and the device below it and just used one of those vented rack panels. Works perfectly.

Thanks for the replies.
The solution was easier than tought.
I put the A16 on top of a large rack synth, which is used not so often and doesn't become much warm.
The large metal plate of the synth expander puts the heat of the A16 away.
A16 is not a BBQ oven anymore.
