well i did it.last night i got a new hard drive and installed xp on it as my new c drive.i also took out one of my pulsar1 srbs and repaced it with a power pulsar.(pp,pulsar1 & srp=25 dsp)

gee, when you follow directions and install everything fresh, one at a time and in the right order(os-mobo drivers-cw w/cw drivers only-progs-sfp),everything works right away.weelll, xtc mode didn't work right 'till i reinstalled logic and sfp over the first install,but.....

i used acpi mode and now i have 24 irqs.my mobo(intel d850mvl)insists on sharing one of the usb driver irqs with one of the cards, but it works fine,so......(i had a similar situation with 98se)

after heavy testing i find that i have gone from 4 masterverbs with the pulsar1 to 9(respectable)fully functional mvs in a large project.this machine has only sfp, logic and samplitude on it.i will probably add another audio app or two,but i find that keeping the tools simple is often the best move.

8 hours later, this machine has never felt so stable.i pray it stays that way!i don't know what some are doing out there, but things are good here!thanks for letting me share!

Thanks Garyb
Always nice to hear of some positive experiences. As you may have seen, I am also in the process of upgrading. What I did not write was, that I may go XP soon too, as 98se + Samplitude + CW ASIO does not work good to me, and others have talked of improvements after going XP. I have my last examination this semester tomorow - after that comes time for experimentation  (may get a new hard drive too, if I am lucky ).

Well, if it is sharing irq with a USB controller/device, you probably wont notice anything.. until you try something like transferring large amounts of data over the USB port that is..
Like when I transfer samples to my Akai sampler via usb, if I have any sharing then, my computer will bsod or reboot, guaranteed.
