Hello to all! :smile:

@samplaire: it doesnt seem to me that they are copying anything more than the name "MasterVerb"...the GUI is completely different; the controls are very similar, but they are both reverb plug-ins and have the controls that one would expect reverb plug-ins to have. And after all what matters is the sound...:wink:
@andre dupke: I agree :smile:

BTW, I was reading today the Hans Zimmer interview in the SOS magazine. This guy has 10 different GigaStudio PCs, each one equiped with a Scope card...plus 4 A16...
I felt somehow proud after reading that! :smile:

with how many tracks does he works!?!?!?!?!?
how the hell can one deal with so many "things"... it's incredible for me!!!!
in his sequencer there must be 1.000 MIDI tracks!! terrible!!!!
:grin:

well, Hans is a smart guy who's working in a business where it's all about deadlines.
Of course he only uses 5 but the other 5 are just redundant systems for emergency :lol:

of course that's just my imagination, Tom

ps: orchestral stuff is frequently layered, so one track may trigger a dozen sample voices. It has to be a little bombastic, too :smile:

It's like Fatboy Slim: being rich is good because when your Atari gets weird you don't have to find a workshop to fix it but you can just buy 10 Ataris to have for emergency :lol:

About the name: yes it's 'only name' but can you imagine, say, 2 sequencers with the same name but different brand and possibilities? It could make confusion as well as other unpredictable mess :smile:

Found http://www.fairlight.com.au to have exactly the same Masterverb as CW's, but now their site is offline. Maybe someone can find it on http://www.fairlight.co.jp cos I can't read japanese...

Hello to all! :smile:

@bosone: I dont get it either! It is TOO much!
@astroman: well...the whole story is that he has 10 Gigastudio PCs with Scope cards in his homestudio... he has another 10 of them in his studio in Media Ventures!! :eek:
@samplaire: I agree :smile:
@at0mic: if I can recall, their PCs are equiped with Pulsar II cards, so it is logical for them to have the MasterVerb plug-in...what I remember had striked me, is that there was absolutely no reference to the name of the audio card (i.e the Pulsar II)... which is rather weird...

hi Rodos,

not wiered at all: you can (at least could)buy /licence Creamware stuff as an OEM to build your own system.
Just a matter of payment and business expectations. I'd really like to know how much of those boards are used in industrial or scientific applications :smile:

What are 10 PC with a Pulsar Two compared to a recording session with an orchestra :wink: though it be damn cool to have them around...

cheers, Tom
