I really wanted the JP-8080 strings so I spent quite a while checking to see if I can do something "similar" on ModIII. Most of it's brute force. Lots of OSC, tried the "pulsarize" module for the first time (works!), distorted highs and mixed that back in.. etc. etc. I even threw in some noise to pull up the highs.
The end result? Well, not too close to JP8080. It does seem to serve a similar musical purpose. Cutting highs, stands out in a mix. Not sure if it has any other uses than epic trance though.
But anyway, here's my tribute to the supersaw pseudo detune. (via "real" detune) Hope you like it.
Has about 10 presets.
Updated with proper presets. (first upload was messed up)
