...which version of Cubase SX do you use? I'm still with 1.03 and it's rocksolid. I don't dare to update it to v1.051 due to reports of unstable systems.

Are any of you guys using v1.051?

Carl.

Hello!

I had updated SX to version 1.051 and had severe midi timing problems. I downgraded to 1.03 and all problems vanished! If you are rock solid (like I am) with version 1.03, I think there is no need to upgrade to 1.051. What matters after all is to have your job done!

Thank you

Same here, went back to 1.03

btw i spoke to the steinberg people at frankfurt music fair: there will be a new version in a few months (alpha stadium right now, so they can´t tell exactly when).
The interesting thing about it will be: FULL latency compensation for DSP-based cards. So maybe XTC-mode will become interesting at last.

Ok. That's what I thougt. I'm sticking with 1.03 then.

Re. the SX update. Sounds good. A good thing is that Steinberg now only has one 'core' to develop for i.e. Cubase SX/Nuendo.

Hmm, I'm using 1.051 at the moment, but it has problems with remembering it's buss o/ps, and midi is hard to synch properly. May be a roll back is the thing for me.....

some problems actually, mainly with midi. just goofy stuff (midi notes getting stuck, or nor playing in time, or not playing at all) that is usually fixed by stopping the sequencer or removing the sfp device.

i haven't experienced any "poofs" since i quit using vsts.
