I've got a problem - I need to sell my old interface but have no idea what's the powersuply voltage. It's very urgent for me because I found a clinet and have been waiting for such for 2 years!!!!!! Since then I haven't used the interface because it doesn't fit my current mac.........

http://www.opcode.com/products/miditrans2/index.shtml mentions it doesn't need a PSU...
[edit] Got an Opcode 128x here, it uses 9VDC 300mA, tip+ ring- It's marked like that on the back...

some sources say that in some cases an external power supply is needed, but couldn't find what the voltage needed really is.
it's not printed on the back???

Hi At0mic - the Translator II (1in/3outs)is something different:
I meant Midi Translator ProSync (2ins/6outs/smpte)

hi samplaire,
most of these units draw power from the Mac's serial ports, so the external supply might only be necessary if it's used with a PC.
On the other hand you can't do much wrong as normally there are voltage regulators inside.
If 6V doesn't work use 9V or 12V, which is more likely.
You might open the box and have a look at the regulators 7805 runs with 6 or 9 V, 7812 with 12 V.

Hi guys,
thanks foryour info and intrests. It's 9V, 500mA - this info I received from a guy who uses the same interface (I found him on searching with HotBot and he answered me e-mail late evening.
P.S.
I was wondernig the voltage because the guy who bought my interface discovered the powersuply I delivered him with the interface was broken (I haven't used the interface for 2 years or so and couldn't try it before selling because there are no serial ports onmy G4). He tried the interface with another suply he had and everything worked fine expect a huge overheating (he used 12V instead of 9V)
