Can't get this working. What am I doing wrong.

what have you tried? this should be fairly straightforward. connect the midi remote output to the sequencer dest. configure the midi remote with particular midi events for each function, and configure cubase's midi remote section with those same midi events... that's it.

I did it like the short pulsar1 manual (quick start guide) described on page 29/30.
I also did some further experimenting but with no results.

in cubase, did you enable the pulsar's midi input (in the options/midi setup, there's a midi inputs combobox, in which enabled devices are checked).

and is the remote activated in cubase? (check the "remote active" checkbox in the cubase midi remote dialog)

also, you should confirm that the pulsar remote's setup matches the cubase remote control settings (make sure the event for Play in the pulsar remote matches the event for Play in the cubase remote)...
