I currently own a Scope-Card bur are planning on selling it and go back to basics, since I've experienced a lot of problems with the SFP software, and wonder what kind of stuff I need to get instead.

Lets say I buy a soundcard with one L/R balanced out, and have active monitor speakers and studio headphones.
For a monitoring/foldback-system, what kind of (non-Creamware) equipment do I need to add and how would I connect it so that the:

* artist in the studio can adjust the level of his/her microphone (mono), the level of the reverb (stereo) and the level of the soundcard (stereo) into the headphones

* engineer in the control-room can adjust the level of the artists microphone (mono), level of reverb (stereo) and the level of the soundcard (stereo) into the monitor speakers

In other words, two separate mixes involving some kind of reverb-unit. I'm looking at the Behringer inexpensive mixers with built-in effects, will they do the job? It seems as though they aren't routable enought. This setup worked very well with a 8 bus mixer that we used to have in the studio, but I'm looking for the easiest and most cost-effective solution now.

Thanks for any advice
/Johan

the artist monitoring must be done by who's on mixer but you can get it all with a Behr ub 1204 and the Scope (wish I had one)
