I' ve some problem with Ulli settings and Matrox G550...
If I set the Ulli to 3ms /44.1 Khz, the Audio from Cubase produce a crackled noise when working on the STM2448 Mixer set on the second Monitor. So I have to set the Ulli to 7ms and all works ok...
Any idea? ...
(My setup is a Pentium IV 1700 1 Ghz Ram, Windows 98 Matrox G550 )

Thanks to any reply

Best Regards

i don't use such a low latency, as i don't work in xtc mode, and i don't use vsti, so i can't compare...but make sure that in your matrox settings you have bus mastering disabled.

I have a similar setup, but with XP home running Matrox 550, but I'm at 7ms and have no problems. maybe you're just pushing it a little too hard ?

try to increase the samplerate to at least 48 khz and then set your ulli back down to 3ms.
it works for me, in xtc-mode/logic that is but it shouldn't matter if you're using cubase.

good luck!

I don't think that it does have anything to do with the Matrox. Obviously 3ms is a harder work than your PC can do.

Besides I found out, that the same project runs smoother (no crackles) when I reproduce it in XTC-mode. I can even load more VSTis and playback more audiotracks as if I run it in SFP-mode.

Many Thanks for yours Tips!
... Matrox bus Mastering is disable and I don't work in XTC mode.
I' ve tried to setting the sample rate at 48 khz and it seems not properly working too.
I' ve no idea why I can't set the Ulli to 3 ms... I set it at 7ms for now and just worry 'bout the music!!!
Thank you all again!!!

Thank you too Dolphin,
but but crackles comes when I work on the seconds Monitor (SPF mode), so I think is a Matrox problem...

Actually I believe the reason is that the 2nd monitor on your matrox is handled by your cpu in the computer more than the first monitor is (ie, the g550 gpu is passing some operations off to the cpu).
