hello,
i'm an sx legit user, but the italian steinberg distributor wants 25E (!) for a copy of the 1.02 version, to be able to install it on w98se.
this is a shame, 'cause
i know that in the u.s. they only ask 12$ to send you the cd.
i calculated that my slow connection could be much more economical to download the full version, and on the other side i don't want to give my blod to these transylvanian distributors, so, if someone could put it on a server and mail me the link i would be very happy...
i've read reports that sx is currently (1.03) running very well on 98, and i'm very curious to see it, as i've always had rock solid 98 installations....
thanks in advance.
ciao, alfonso.

You can d/l it directly from Steinberg's homepage, at
http://service.steinberg.de/webdoc_ps_i ... _pro_pc_en , appr. 16 MB.
Anxious to hear about your results with SX on 98SE, please post your findings
Cheers

thanks for the answer,stubbe,
but these are only updates, and they need a previous full installation, and the original cd i have is 1.0, and doesn't install on w98se.
i was looking for the "full" 1.02 version, that is the first one that installs also in 98....
but thanks again, when i find it i'll report.
ciao.

Oups, sorry, didn't notice.
I went looking, and the only thing that said 1.02 full and did not look like a crack (wouldn't touch them with a 10 ft pole) is the 1.02 demo (save diabled among other things

) here :
http://service.steinberg.net/webdoc.nsf/show/demos_pc_e, (34 MB) sorry, that's probably not much help
Hope you get it !
Cheers

Hi Alfonso, don't know about your progress with your problem, just wanted to let you know that I got my SX crossgrade package yesterday (I am old Logic gold WIN user

), it turned out to be version 1.02 and it installed beautifully under Win98SE.
It seems to work just fine (knock on wood), even with ULLI @ 4ms, and recording 8 simultaneous stereotracks @ 44,1 kHz-16 bit with a lot of effects strewn all over it, just for testing.
How are you doing ?
Cheers

thanks stubbe|
i've got it too, and for free!
the nice thing is that i sent a mail to the moderator of cubase.net asking if it was possible to have the full 1.02 to download because of the high price of italian distributor and guess what....
next day i got a mail from italian distributor with many excuses, it was a mistake and bla bla, and that they are giving it for free....
so as my wife's grandma says (she's 91) the baby that cries louder gets the milk....

Ahh, the sneaky devil, he got it free from Steinberg and tried to sell it to you for 25 E !!!
He definitely deserved a slap over the wrist
Say hi to your wife's grandma from me.
Cheers
