Hi there i got this nasty prob, when i run logic and playback my song, and i want to see a synth wich is loaded in SFP 3.1, my Logic stops an gives a ASIO overload.
My setup is a Pentium IV 2.0 GHZ, ASUS 533 motherboard, 512 DDR-RAM, latency on pulsar I 13ms, a lower setting gives the same prob, could it have something to do with my videocard, I'm running XP totally tweaked. when i only use VSTi's i got no probs, only when using plugins form SFP it gives a ASIO-overload, by the way, XTC-mode doesn't give me these prob's.

yeah,it's common to logic and it seems to be video related.(hiding sfp minimizes the occurence, especially when two sequencers are running!)i've found it to be easily worked around as switching windows seems to be the most likely cause.

a well configured system will have less of this occurance and cw claims to have optimized the asio driver a bit so hopefully we'll be seeing it less.

really,it's been only a very mild inconvienience for the most part, since it never happens during recording as i really shouldn't be flipping screens when i want the machines' full attention on THAT task(recording)at that time.

i haven't seen it continuously either,(altho i CAN force an occurance buy fipping between programs rapidly, everytime)so if it's non-stop you have issues with your computer's set-up.

Thanx for you reaction,

I'don't think i'm having a problem with my system, i bought it 2 weeks ago, and the problem is now ocuuring for two days, non-stop, three day ago, i installed 3.1c, but i deinstalled it because this problem was occuring, so i got back to the original 3.1, but the problem is still there, maby the problem is in the new 2000/XP drivers, because i cpuld have forgot them during deinstallation.

Hey, in Logic 5.2, i found there was a setting in Audio panel for overload message suppression! I don't get them anymore at all!

Go check just over the processor setting in General audio panel.

Without this message appearing all the times, asio and logic are alot better to use togheter now! This also work under XTC mode for those interrested.

LOL!

Yes, i'm at work and bored, waiting for an J2EE app to compile....Then i'll have to deploy this in production. That's the life of a programmer!

He Marcuspocus, i founf a other solution in a other post on this forum, Right click on the tasbar, task and then: set processing priority for Logic, "above normal".

One Question about your solution, do i have to turn the ASIO oveload messages "on" or "off"

Thanx

(for info: Cubase has priority settings built-in, standard it runs in 'high' priority)
