hello to everyone. i have a pentium 3 which runs at 850mhz. Pc probe (asus utility) show that my pentium max speed can be 1100mhz. Is it safe to change the value in Bios to that frequency? Does it need any jumper setting?
Does it affect pulsar?

On a pentium3 motherboard, when you overclock it increases the PCI frequency Creamware cards do not like it to be increased very much. (I would not go past 37 mhz just to be safe)
so if you multiply that by 3 (assuming you have a 100mhz FSB) you would get 111. multiply that by 8.5 (your processor multiplier) you would get 944 mhz
keep an eye on the temperature with PC probe for a while. if it gets too hot or crashes you would need another heatsink. which would probably cost as much as a p3 1100
It is almost 100 free mhz. and 11% memory bandwidth increase.
I think the PC probe thing is just telling you the max CPU you can put on that board.

so by what settings/multiples can I get a 1G PIII on an Asus CUSL2 to get up to?
I tried overclocking my PIII 800eb, but didn't get too far before Pulsar started to puke at me.
