an idea just struck me today. to speed up the development of our beloved platform, cw needs to get a bigger share of the market, but sadly for each day less people seem to know/care about whats going on in the sfp universe.

one thing i think cw should do now that they are developing these great new plugs are selling them as boxed through music stores, this will get them into those fancy ads by digitalvillage etc.. people will see them in stores and be curious. this will be free PR (minus the cost of printing/boxing, wich i doubt is to big).

I can only speak for my self, but atleast i am very tempted when i see all those nice looking plugs in musicmagasines and stores.

so what do you think good or bad suggestion?

i almost think NOAH will be a big saviour in this respect; they can give a demo unit, which hopefully requires little-to-zero installation efforts, and the plugins can be tried in that environment by magazine reviewers, etc.

of course, hopefully enough reviewers get machines to try the latest plugins... I sort of believe Creamware should consider sending a NOAH box with the latest plugin they'd like reviewed, it might simplify things to get press.

After lots of thought, the fact Creamware seems scarce in print really comes down to the fact there is so much constant change and development on the platform and not enough reviewers with the DSP cards.

I'd be curious to hear other ideas on this topic myself.

seems there's a large difference how this is handled internationally.
In Germany they have very good press coverage. Any new software and devices are mentioned and reviewed in depth. Of course this includes comparison to TC, UAD and ProTools as well.
Magazin ads are full/double page or even the full backcover.
All big discounters here sell and advertise them, though a better choice would be to get additional consulting of a real pro shop knowing the products AND it's customers.
