I was hoping someone would please tell me the procedure for transferring a device from one piece of Creamware hardware to another. Specifically, I want to transfer my STS-4000 and STS-5000 samplers from my Pulsar II card to my PowerSampler card. I am selling my Pulsar II card but would like to keep the sampler devices.

I went to the Creamware "Registration" page and tried to register my current STS-4000 and STS-5000 activation keys with my PowerSampler hardware. However, I get an error message stating that the serial number is not valid.

It is my understading that Creamware now allows users to buy and sell individual devices from each other so there must be a way to transfer device licenses from one hardware card to another.

If anyone knows how to do this, I would greatly appreciate your help. Or if you could direct me to the section of the Creamware website or manual that explains how to transfer device licenses, that would also work.

Well, you'll have to follow the same procedure as if you were selling your devices to somebody else. You'll get an 'unreg' module, which resets all the keys from the card from which you remove the devices, and you'll get new keys at your 'My Page'.

Sorry for being such a doofus, but how do I go about getting an "unreg" module? Do I need to contact Creamware directly or can I do this myself somehow via their website?

After rooting around a bit more, I finally found the re-registration information on the Creamware website (at the following link just in case anyone is interested: http://shop.creamware.de/shop2000/de/sh ... .asp?LG=US).

Man, it seems REALLY complicated to change the hardware to which a particular software device is assigned. Oh well...

I thought so too, but they seemed to be cool and gave guidelines with each step/mail. They'll help you thru.
One tip: try to load the unreg module, which will erase all regs from your card, during German office hours. Then you're not stuck without card for a long time.
