The Series III updates will go into final beta next week. (Release Candidate).
Sharc One is not in beta yet, but the protype is working very well

Hi Kimgr,
Will existing users get the update free?
Is Michael Olsen still doing the DSP?
Looking VERY much forward to the release (using this stuff every day...)

The updates will be free, and Michael is still doing the dsp-coding. (After reading up on the subject, I discovered that it would take way to long to get good at it

)

Ha ha
So from now on he do the DSP-coding and you do design? Something like that?

This is good news! I'm waiting to get my hands on that reverb.

Excatly like that !
What do you think of the look/design of the Sharc One ?

Kimgr:> Actually I like it alot... And if Michael is doing the DSP-coding, be sure that I want one.(READ: A RACK FULL

)
If I should comment something, though small issue, I really like when meters are "striped", if you know what i mean (with horisontalt lines through). I my opinion, it gives you better control (like "OK, should be three stripes from the top"). Too, I would like decimal readings on the input, like on the output (But it seems you will have a space problem then).
I don't see why I both can "Turn off" the EQ AND "Bypass it"? Also I think a SUPER easy gate would be nice, rigth before the expander.
One last thing, is it possible to make a popup window where you can set alternative routing?
I have a questing for you. Do you know where I can find SCOPE/DP in Denmark to a good price? Or even in Germany, if you know some place?
But all in all, i really like the "design" of it, the skin, readability and so on. I look forward to this plugin.

(all IMHO)
Why to "turn off" and "bypass" a module?
"Turn off" saves DSP, "Bypass" does not unload from DSP. So Bypass is quicker to restore.

I already tried the "striped" thing, but it looked like s#!t...

In my experience you don't need a decimal readout of the peakhold on a digital recording strip ?
I don't see why I both can "Turn off" the EQ AND "Bypass it"?
Atomic already answered that one... The reason there's no on/off for the rest is that the EQ is by far the heaviest on dsp-usage.
Also I think a SUPER easy gate would be nice, rigth before the expander.
The expander _IS_ a "SUPER easy gate"

No.

There's only 4 Scope/DP's in Denmark, and as far as I know none of them are for sale. I am however considering selling mine, because I'll have two of them soon

What would you consider a fair price ? (Retail price= 70.000,- DKK)
Or you can get one brand new from
http://www.cyberfarm.dk

Thanx. It will hopefully be finished soon, as I'm 99% done with the updates
Kim.

70.000,- ? I quess that includes the hardware... But i already got SCOPE/SP, 2 pulsar II, Pulsar I & pulsar SRB. So I dont need more DSP, just the software... What is the price of that?
Anyway i can't seem to find it on cyberfarm.
Is it possible to have a demo of the DP system, cause information is VERY sparse.

Hi Kim, The Shark one, will the EQ be switchable to pre/post Compressor or perhaps switchable EQ for sidechaining ?
Thanks Dave

Just a question.
When I move faders on Timworks reverb I get horrible digital sound due to math I suppose. Will this be slightly cured.
I like to realtime my changes when listening to audio.
Thx!

The software is about 27.500,- DKK

Offcourse. Just give me a call at CyberFarm: 70 20 90 99

Sorry, no. That would require a full rewrite, and properly quite a lot of dsp-usage

No. I've never understood why some engineers prefer the eq before the comp ? Every time you change the filters, you need to readjust the comp... And with many analog compressors you also need a filter after to compensate for loss of high frequencies. Allthough that's not a problem in the SharcOne, I still prefer comp->eq.
The LowCut filter is placed before the expander and comp, and in most cases that's enough for me. It would offcourse be better to have seperate filters for the comp sidechain, but I have to watch the dsp-usage as well: The current stereo version uses 73% of a chip, and that might go even higher with some planned improvements in the comp and/or eq algorithms
Kim.
