Quite so!

I remember finding it quite funny when I read about it on /.

I don't quite understand what's the point of it though. I mean, sure, putting a lamp stage on a cheap sound card will probably make it's sound more palatable. It's just that if I want to really benefit from tube technology, I will at least build/buy a good quality pre-amp. Real audio buffs will pay for real solutions. I just don't see what market segment they're going for with this motherboard.

Also, I don't see how they could have done anything other than a starved plate desing on a motherboard so, it might color the sound quite a bit.

I'm quite curious about what the reviews will tell about it.

I think this is definitely one for the perspex side panel window geeks and "for the nerd that has everything, why not buy....."

I have to admit that, with a case mod that shows off the lamp, this would have quite a high cool factor.

Still, I'll keep to my Creamware cards instead...
