I wonder if anyone has enough time to learn to use both programs. Even if you shold be able to define the same keys for similar functions in both aplications - i don't believe it will be much fun...

I still can't believe what's happening to us, it's somehow like loosing a good friend...

But now: Hello, Steinberg.

I just finished talking with a Steinberg Rep (US).

To upgrade, they basically just need the front page of Logic's manual and $299.

Sounds too easy though...

I find the rep, a little vague?!...

One of the bigger shops in Denmark (Aage) states on their homepage, that they will need a receipt with your name on or some other proof of ownership, that's about it, really. They are not quite ready to start throwing them over the counter yet, guess they will need an extra shipment...

BTW, they felt like making making a little excuse on behalf of Emagic :

(translated from danish:)
"While it will be exciting to see what Apple and Emagic can bring out to the mac-platform when they bring their heads together, we in the shop feel sorry for the customers that chose Logic for Windows."

I would like it to read "...when they bang their heads together..."

Ah,well, I think it's a migthy fine offer, that is very tempting. Only problems is, that I will need Win XP and for that maybe a new PC (or new mobo, CPU and RAM that is).

Whinig a little bit feels god

Keep up the spirit

Really?! So far, the rep here at Steinberg US HQ told me that I had to go through them to crossgrade...
I wish I could go to a local Guitar Center and do my crossgrade there!

That's their statement, but they also end it by saying "further information will follow" (read : We can change this many times before we start throwin' them over the counter, so don't keep your hopes too high)

As usual, we will just have to wait and see....

Cheers

Okay, folks, let me encourage you: SX absolutaly rocks and it is super-dooper solid and stable. Go for it, you won't regret it. More: it works a whole lot better with CW xtc mode than Logic ever did. More: it has been written specially for windows XP/2000 and just like these OSes, it is super stable. Didn't have a single crash yet (power using it for weeks now).
