Hi.

I have a Pulsar I, a Luna II and have bought a used Pulsar I SRB. In the creamware-manual it says that you have to connect each board with each board, but each of the above mentioned boards only has 1 STDM-Bus. Does that mean that cascading my 3 boards is impossible ?

When I boot up all boards are recognised by the system without any probs. But the software won´t start giving out the error-message:

"Hardware cannot be setup properly; installation error. kernel file apollosos0.21k not found or invalid. Please check installation."

I checked installation, tried out different pci-ports, but nothing did help.

Software: Pulsar 301. I tried to install Pulsar 3.1 too but the installer refuses telling me that I have to check hardware installtion.

Does anyone knows, if it is possible to use the 3 mentioned boards or not.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Regards

Thilowski

Hi there,

Cascading the three boards won't be a problem since an STDM cable (the one you use to connect them together) has three connectors on it ...

So it should work flawlessly ...

Check you have the proper drivers installed for all your cards, oh and clean the stdm connectors.

hi valium...

thanks for the hint with the 3 connectors, but:

in the manual it says that each board has to be connected to each board:

pulsar I with Luna II
pulsar I with SRB
luna II with SRB

or is this wrong ?

to remixme:

what liquid do you use for cleaning the SDTM-connectors ?

If you connect your cards using just 1 triple connector cable (i.e. your first card to the third via the second one) everything should be ok. I had 3 cards connected this way successfully. Perhaps you should dig your manual for hints: I mean the 'boardid' stuff (i.e. 'naming' all your cards in different than default combination using cset.ini). Any manual that came with either of your cards contain info on this topic, just look for 'boardid' in it

Only clean the stdm connectors if they look grimy.
For cleaning use something like 99% pure alcohol, so it evaporates quickly.
I use servisol super 10 switch cleaning lubricant, I use it to grime off my jack plugs etc, its pretty standard stuff.
Be cafeful not to get it anywhere else on the card, and leave for a good 15 mins before putting back in your comp.
