If you have self powered Event BAS or the the other self powered ones try turning the preset volume control on the back to its max.

turn it down somewhere else. it sounds a LOT better when its at full (given everything else the same level)

Im not sure the "hifi" term but it sounds better.

This applies to most speaker setups. ie active or amp/speaker combo.

You should generally set your amplifier to three quarters volume, and control the volume from the mixer. Mainly because it stops wear and tear on your expensive speaker/amp.
(My pots are nearly shot on my amp because of usuage, before I had a mixer.)

The only reason they don't say put it at full blast, is in case you make a horible noise by accident, ie pulling the powercord on the mixer, while your speakers is at full blast is a good way to wreck them. Three quarters is usually better. But mine are setting there at full blast.
So whatever works best for you.

Sort of related.. but how does everyone cope with Pulsar OS making "clicks" when a project loads? It's obviously bad for the speakers, but it's not like I want to go and turn off my speakers every time I load a project. Any ideas?

I have a mixer where PFL's can act as mutes.
So just before I switch everything off at night I hit the global mute. Then when I power up the next day, I boot, load pulsar and unmute, quick and easy for me.

The only time my pulsar makes "clicks" is when I turn the machine off and forget to turn that channel down.

I seem to remember it used to click when i was using SP/DIF as the main outs. im using the balanced analog out now(pulsar plus). it is much more trouble free for me (due to POS tascam TMD-1000)

now... if only I didnt loose the tiny screw driver. Anyone know which screw driver size I should get to replace it, and *finally* be able to tweak the settings of my 20/20bas?

It is weird that they didn't design them with nice knobs...

ps: no speaker click here, using 2 A16 Ultra OUTs with balanced TRS jacks with a small Behringer 602A mixer in between (need that knob to control the volume  ).

i actually emailed them yesterday, got an answer today:

"Manuel,

Thank you for supporting Event products. Unfortunately, we do not manufacture those screws any longer. Try using a small screwdriver (about the size for repairing glasses) to adjust the input sensitivity.

Thanks,

tonight I'll find this glass-repair kit thingy, i think it has a screwdriver in there

btw, back to the original post... are you sure you arent talking about the "input sensitivity" instead of level? Or maybe you mean the LF and HF levels?

I donth think i saw a general level control

It's kind of funny that Event actually used to make those screwdrivers..
I've got my 20/20bas both set at 5, and don't want to change it cuz that's what I got very used to already. But maybe if I ever get a digital mixer, I'd change it.
