What do you think ?
Is there any evidence ?
Are there any CW members ?
Are they interested ?
Do they care ?

There are NI staff on the KVR forum who regularly comment. NI staff also actively moderate the NI forums - unlike the CW forum where Ingo will randomly descend God-like, but offer only Sphynx-like silence on other threads.

If they're not here, then why not ?
If they are here, then why hide ?

The ProPack offer made me think of this. Perhaps I'm a bit cynical, but it's even more cynical of them to only turn up when they have something to sell. Why not just talk to your user base ?

What a pain!

I go on liking that card, but she goes on unliking me and my music

Spirit: yes, but here we are talking of changing the entire CW staff

The ProPack offer, I believe it's Paul Tanti (EarlyFirst), who registered under another alias. He did that to distantiate from his EarlyFirst project, where he does his own developped stuff. Selling under Earlyfirst could cause confusion.

But you're right, I don't see no Ingo here or other CW Germany people. Now that you say so, he's at the yahoo group but not here. Strange...

Planetz calling CW, do you read, over?

they most certainly do as you can see in their recent ads in german mags:

bla, bla...
constantly growing internet community; more than 200 plugins for free
bla...

John, they owe you...

i think i remember getting a signed (usually not) email from cw canada support from....a paul tanti...who is also known as earlyfirst

as for them not peeping their heads here but only to advertise their plug-in's in the device section.

i would guess its because they are so very busy and they know the planetz is such an addictive (time occupying) place .

speaking for myself, i can't stand to browse groups.yahoo for very long....because of those retarded ads that randomly get in your way when trying to read threads. the creamware forum is just no fun whatsoever. i will go there and anwser questions on occasion, but i very rarely find anything remotely interesting there (a thread on extended csound was a recent highlight), unless wading through tech questions is your cup of tea.

the latest thing was arguing about how mac was a dying platform and how osx isn't a form of unix.

ugh.

The old "they're too busy programming" argument doesn't wash. No one is that busy. I've worked 12 days straight and yesterday 16-hours and still drop in to see the Z !

Agree about Yahoo. Signing up was an agony and wading through those crap ads turned me right off. Yech! It makes the CW forum look slick.

Planet Z is THE home of Creamware. There are more than 1000 fans gathered in the temple to pray, but our Gods never appear

your right spirit, that argument doesn't hold.

but, what does make sense is that cw emps when they are not working distance themselves from the company as much as possible, so as to keep fresh.

and also, annoucing your a creamware emp would mean TONS of email and questions, and blame, and man...that would just suck, and be overwhelming.

some developers choose to do this, you mention ni.

on the bias peak mailing list, mister bias himself (steve berkely) and a few of his coharts (spelled right?) make it part of their job to anwser almost ALL the questions posed there. in fact its almost quicker to post a question there and get an anwser from them than to do it through email.

i don't think i could obligate to do that myself, if i was working for a company with a large user base.

well, unless i wanted to boost my ego or something by hoovering over all the mindless drones who will listen to and obey my every command .

Have you read the official CW forum? They are really putting lots more effort in it lately. Ingo and even Willi Schmitz are replying to most messages now.

I've been told no mail will be left unanswered. Let's hope they keep it up, cos that support is really going to give them benefit.

Also, I'm very happy with the fact that every user (from Luna to Scope) get to see the full package. Before they were like afraid to show the expensive Scope, while that's the big studio board that could give them credentials and 3rd arty developpers could raise the CW status.

If CW weren't answering most enquiries at the moment an angry mob would storm their HQ and drag people from the building.

Of course if CW appeared now at Planet Z after such a long silence they would of course be drowned in questions (and probably some abuse), but after a while it would calm down.

And is it really much of an excuse to say: "We haven't been there before, so we can't go there now because people will ask too many questions" ?

Also, I wouldn't expect CW staff to prowl forums on their own time. Most business employ someone at least part-time whose job it is to do some public liaison and show some corporate goodwill.

ps: does this thread mean I get the "Most Annoying Whine of the Week" Award

Now we are drowning in them. They could contact someone, who has very good knowledge. Cos we, being home users, miss the background and facilities to solve lots of problems. :/ I would solve them if I could, cos that's what I like to do, it gives me good insight in what I do myself. It lets me test and learn. But just like you guys, I'm only a home user without any inside or in depth info.

Planetz calling CW, do you read? It is soo busy here, one could spend 24hrs around the clock trying to solve problems.

You know I've never eaten a waffle before. Are they tasty?

I don't quite understand them because they've got holes in them - wouldn't jam or honey just leak through. Seems like a waste.

Is that the kind of topping you would have on a waffle - and where the hell did they come from? Who would invent something like that.

Remember the Aero Bar commercial - "It's the bubbles of nothing that really makes it something" and all I could think was that I was paying the same price for this chocolate bar as others with the distinguishing feature of this particular chocolate bar being that it was full of air.

Is that the same with waffles? Is it a fraction of a piece of toast perhaps?

Now toast is a much better snack. But you know when a slice of bread has a hole in it? I get pissed off with that. I think now my jam is going to leak onto the bench top.

Now how could I feel any different about a waffle?

Still want to do what it takes to get the award Spirit?

waffles don't have holes all the way through silly!

they are more like indentations, which are meant to "hold" all those yummy, condiments like; blackberries, blueberries, rasberries, maple syrup and...hmm, i'd say butter but i'm a vegan...so canola margarine

crepes are much better from what i remember. i wonder how a crepe would do without milk and eggs though....probobly not very well . well, there are good substitutes but i haven't perfected their uses as of yet.

anyhow...you make good points spirit, i tend to stay on the defensive a bit...so don't think i am anti all your opinions.

there are a bajillion different reasons why cw and people are and do what they do, or keep away from.

i think i could almost get a job doing pr on the web for a company....PART-TIME!!!

hmm....
