Has anyone used a slotket (or similar) to convert a Pentium III FC-PGA chip to Slot 1? I'm thinking of upgrading my P3 500 and don't really want to change my Abit BE6-II motherboard, as it is very solid. From what I can gather, they shouldn't affect performance, but I wanted to confirm this.

Also, if anyone knows of any places on the web where I can get hold of a 100 Mhz FSB PIII, I'd appreciate the info. I presume I will need 100 Mhz for my motherboard?

Cheers,
Will

We have several machines at my work that use slockets, there has never been an issue related to that.

Good to hear you've had no problems with them. Now all I need to do is find a 100 Mhz FSB PIII, which don't seem to be that common these days.

Cheers,
