Did a short demo....thought I would post it.

Used the Miniscope, three-o-three, EZ synth, and the Prism.

Drums done in Reason.

Tracks recorded and mixed in Pro Tools.

Song is kind of a tribute to "The Matrix" soundtrack. Not my usual style, but I wanted to try something different.

Thanks for taking a listen!
Cheers

Hey I really enjoyed this - especially as you just happen to 'knock it up' with your new kit!

Usually takes me MUCH longer to get this familiary with my stuff.

Also, I actually like the composition of rhythm versus melody in this - surely you didn't just compose it off the top of your head since you bought your Pulsar??

I'm jealous.

I'm glad you're enjoying the card.

caleb,

The answer is "yes" and "no". I actually composed the bulk of the song last week while I was making up my mind about the Pulsar.

I wrote the song on Reason first. I am familiar with the program, and can lay down ideas pretty quickly. Then I exported the MIDI file, and imorted that into the Pro Tools sequencer. Then it was just a matter of finding the right sounds, tweaking the sequence and doing the recording and the mix.

This is probably how I will work - Reason as a sketchpad, and Pro Tools / Pulsar for the final mix and for tweaking.

If anybody has suggestions for a better / faster method, please let me know. I don't particularly care for Cubase or Logic (I find they slow me down)

Thanks for listening.

Cheers

I really love this bigbeat/breakbeat style! Imagine a b-boy uplockin' like crazy to this tune! Anyway, great work. Like caleb says, you're a very fast learner! It usually takes around a 2 months learning curve to get something of this quality out of Pulsar. Anyway, glad you're catching up quickly.. some poeple find the initial learning phase quite bothersome, and then never bother to try to beat it.. but it's obvious you're not having such a hard time. I'm eager to hear your future projects!
