Will it work on my Asus A7V333 motherboard that is the newest of the VIA chipsets?
I read something that the VIA chipsets can cause trouble with Pulsar 2.

"Works perfectly on Win98SE if you don't have background tasks running or a crap VIA chipset."

I use win98se though

it should work.you probably won't get near the performance you would with all intel.

Well like garyb said you probably won't get the same performance ie number of masterverbs loaded. More crackles at lower latency. ie <13ms
But it will work.
If you do try it let me know how everything goes, I'm keen to see an improvement in athlon motherboards.
And peeps will be on hand to help squeze the last drop of performance out of your mobbo.

I got a reply on my email to creamware where they said that they could not recommend me to buy Pulsar 2 when using the VIA chipset.
So now i had two options. To give up the whole pulsar idea. Or to find a motherboard without the VIA chipset.
And look what ASUS released some days ago
http://www.asus.com.tw/mb/socketa/a7s333/overview.htm

That is a SiS 745 chipset motherboard. And it can be used with my amd xp processor!!!
Do anyone have any experience with the SiS chipsets? Will i be without the pci problems
from the VIA chipsets?

Any thoughts??

that mobo is for brave explorers.the via mobo WILL work, but it will take lots more tweaking and will never work as well as an intel chipset or even an amd chipset.that sis chipset is the best thing going on paper.in real life however, who knows?.............
don't worry, the card is worth it.

Congrats, disciple. Gnabgib, it will work if you're not scared about tech. But you should consider trying out win2k or win xp as imho their audio engines beat the one used in win98 in terms of latency + stability. Good luck
