Hi Peeps

Ive been researching different cards and applications for about a year but now I want to get serious. My weapons of combat will be (drum roll)...

Reason
Sonar 2
Reactor
Luna II

From what Ive found out Sonar needs WDM drivers to work with really low latency. What I would like to know is should I buy the Luna ii even though Creamware does not make WDM drivers? I havent put the details of my computer here because Im gong to build it around the applications

Is anyone using a simular set up?

Thanks for your time and help Dudes

hehe.. I've seen people with similar setups.. I believe we have some sonar users here.. and reaktor, reason, there are plenty of. Just wait a couple of more hours and you should have plenty of answers.

The heaviest traffic usually comes in about 6-7 hours from now. for your info. In the meanwhile, you can pass time in the music forum.. that's what I always do. It's my usual "after shower" activity.

Yes Ken, weekend's coming on it might get busy

If you have an off-set, your latency could have changed, yes. Try running wav driver detection or something again, so the program can make up for the latency change...

If you have a sync problem or sync drifts, try using other than Pulsar's midi drivers/ports, so if that fixes it... I used to send midi to my patchbay and back to Pulsar's hardware port, for tightness.

I think the program lies in your CWPA/Sonar software settings, or in the midi drivers maybe.

my 2c.

I won't be able to help you because I know jack about Sonar and the latencies with its drivers, so my advice wouldn't be very helpful I'm afraid.

I actually know precious little about Luna too.

I'm sure there'll be some people on the forum that could give you advice if you hang around for a while.

If you are going to build a computer system around something, I'd build it around the card you're going to get rather than the other software. You can run into so many problems if you don't and there will be plenty of people on this forum who could tell you the problems you run into with certain motherboards and Creamware's cards. But I'll let those people tell you because I don't want to give you bad advice.

Cheers for the replies Dudes

I really hope it all works together because it'll be cool to make music rather than fix problems!

Keep 'em coming please.

I was in the same predicament you were in at the beginning of my using Pulsar.

I can assure you you will get your answers and be making music in no time.

wdm drivers are provided.currently they are only 16bit.the rumor is that 24bit will be included in 3.1 . (my understanding anyway)

Come payday I'll have a reason to post not lurk! This is a cool comunity and you all should be proud of it. When I sell my Mum I'll get a Pulsar II but the Luna will be cool for now

Yep, thats all I need just one Luna card...

But it would be so much COOLER to pay off all your debts, and not let your friends down so badly all the time, eh?

Don't you think you should really research things like,

1. Living a responsible life?
2. Paying off your debts?
3. Thinking about other people in your life and not just yourself?
4. Getting a job instead of festering in front of sad computer games 24/7?

Now that would be serious.

Pay your debts? Or would the onus just be on your friends to do that?

I bet you haven't seen a bedroom so horrible as the one this particular setup was in though?
