Why does the pulsar mixer turn on the inserts when loading when they are
turned off when closing the program.?

We will try to fix this problem in the SFP 3.1 update.
I´m impressed where else would you get such a quick reply. Ok I know some of you guys are thinking what is he doing making suggestions for improvements when we want 3.1 yesterday. But from my point of view I want this update to be the best possible and even last minute suggestions are valid because it will be some time before we will see the following versions Does anyone else have a last minute suggestion? If you could fix something what would it be

I think the NAMM brochure should give you a good idea about what we intended
with SFP 3.1. The main new feature is the Live Bar which allows a totally
different way of work (all important parameters can be accessed from one
little window). Still you can work in the Routing Window as before if you
prefer it this way.

There are only a few new devices (e.g. the STM 1632 mixer). We rather
concentrated on stability (e.g. DSP placement in heavy projects),
compatibility to old projects, and some other core functions. The hardware
IOs are treated differently now: you can load projects that were built with
a diferent card now much easier.

There are some little but nice new features: automatic cabling from modules
to the mixers, loading devices from the mixer channel, converting AKAI
programs to STS, XTC mode for Luna users, Shift + N connects all remaining
cables at once, works for deleting cables also, and so on.

3.1 will include a Gigasampler module for Win 2000 / XP and 24 bit wave
drivers. We also fixed the BigMixer bug with saving insert effect settings.(estupendo!)

i believe that bigmixer saving bug works for rm242 too, because ingo said that's system problem - not mixer problem.

i hope that i be able to use cd roms with xp/sfp without problems?

i hope that's already fixed xp/stsxxx distortion problem?

btw: i'm still on win98, but i miss xp - i want my 3ms again and all nice xp's performances

I mentioned this bug in the Best Mixer thread and got this reply from ghandi.

I hope they fixed the "rename" text box bug.. I mean, be it presets for any device, usually when you're typing into a "name" text box is when something is done.. and I've had it crash a couple of times. Since then, I don't bother with thinking of cool names for my presets. I guess I can live with it.. but hey, we're musicians. It's these tiny details that count.
Glad the preset bug is fixed though. It seems it's been plagueing many users. Strange I haven't noticed it. Maybe it's the way I work.

hmmm interesting so many ways of working round things.It´s good to know thats fixed.
I notice that some people are not over the moon on the drummodule ES8i.Which seems a bit thin on drum and percussion sounds. Well at least after trying things like battery. Is this also one area that CW could develop to balance out the strengths in quality synths.

To provide a wider spectrum of sounds for the first time pulsar computer musician looking for an all in one solution in at least as far as instruments are concerned if not sequencing duties and the pro studio requirements of a quality card to intergrate into the studio. Obviously with many players
in the field quality synths and quality drum modules/samplers will attract the attention of new buyers and the market lets hope we continue to see refinement and development of improved quality within the contents of
CW products, roll on SFP 3.1

Yes, the drum module is pretty much useless. You can get some third-party drum modules but IMHO they all suffer because of a lack of "export wav" function. (This is my pet peev ) For people like me who are audio-based rather than MIDI it would also be very nice to have Fruity-style 32-step matrix to program the tracks.

In the meantime, the ModV2 can certainly get some great analog sounds (and samples), so try some of those patches & forget the ES

Well at least until the ES can morph into a
sample/module hybrid using all that cool drum synth power to generate various drum modules that have all the best mangling effects possibilities of Battery or the DR-008 integrated in to the SFP enviroment.Now that would be something to write home about.

Meanwhile, I think a lot of the synths really provide tasters of what's available on the platform encouraging people to look for the elite instruments supplied by Creamware or 3rd Parties.

It's much like Cubase providing a nice set of plug-ins but making you thirst for real quality by having 3rd parties supply VSTi.

To me, it seems to work this way on most platforms and makes sense - to me anyway.
