I guess we are all hopeless freaks waiting that hysterically for a piece of software...

Hmmm... I was just there and experienced the same problem, but being a total newbie I just figured that was typical for the CW site.
BTW, does the CW discussion forum actually work or is it closed down? I tried to enter but it wouldn't accept my password, even though I'd just registered. No big deal - PlanetZ rocks anyway

More detailed information on the release can be gained by the old muso practice of "throwing the cable". You get a bunch of short 1/4" leads and chuck 'em on the floor. Depending on what pattern they make you can tell when the next piece of kit will be released; whether you'll be travelling this year; and when you'll be married. My three 2m leads and twirly guitar cable indicated a release date of May 20th. I did have an RCA lead in there so that may possibly have clouded the result...
Alternatively you can get an apple or pear and twist the little stalk at the top. Each twist represents a day. Count the number of twists until the stalk comes loose and you have the 3.1 release date. I used this method and got May 22nd. Uncannily close to the "throwing the cable" date don't you think and is surely decisive confirmation of this date.
The "Interpret the Server Error" method of divination is just too unscientific for me.
"Throwing the Cable: the art and interpretation of muso-magick" is now available in paperback and comes with an attractive wall poster for $29.95

I'll move this from announcements to general discussion, and try to reserve an actual 3.1 announcement for for the announcements forum!

Well, Spirit, I just tried the throw cables on floor trick too and had a very clear divination that I will be going on a quest to buy more velcro cable ties.

it doesn't take a genius to figure that there will be a restructuring of the download area because all of the products are now on the same platform.(scope fusion) however, even a genius could guess that this looks like the start of that process.

I consulted my Magic 8 Ball concerning the software release. This is what it said:
Ask again later
So there you have it. My Magic 8 Ball never fails me. If you have any other questions you'd like answered, just post them here and I will respond back.

Will China launch its Taikonauts (aka astronauts) this year ?
(OK, a little OT but I wanna know what the Magic 8-ball says. My pear stalk said next year!)

Ok. You asked for it. Here's one... will she ever forgive me?
Cheers,
Carl.

Magic 8 Ball says: Signs point to yes.
Will she ever forgive me?
Magic 8 Balls say: Very doubtful
BTW: I have a pair of Magic Balls (in case one drops) and I've noticed that when I vigorously shake my Magic Balls, they tend to respond in an enthusiatic manner.

Why is anybody the least bit excited about 3.1 - isn't it just a finished version of 3.01 - surley it has nothing NEW or FREE of any consequence in it. Is there any suggestion that any of the scope software will be made available to all - I think not. So whats the big deal/hype/whooptie Doo - 24 bit sound in XP perhaps?
Perhaps I'm wrong - am I?
