CREAMWARE POWER PULSAR 2 z-link and ULTRA A 16 ---- NO SYNC !

I just bought the CREAMWARE POWER PULSAR 2 z-link and the ULTRA A 16 .

The problem is that the U A16 and the POWER PULSAR 2 don't synchronize via Z-link.

When I reset the PC, the green led Z-link goes well, but when the desktop is charging WIN98 SE (more precisely the blue icon of the Pulsar), the U A16 led afterwards turns SHARP RED!!!!

I've tried in everyway possible :with master and slave, with the U A16, with the Power Pulsar. I've even tried on 2 different computers and I always have the same problem!!!!

The Pulsar Software version is 3.01. I've even tried the 3.01b with no results.

On the other hand, if I try to disconnect the Z-link cable of the right side, in the U A16 everything synchronizes, but the audio signals in input don't function (I can tell from the led).

I've even tried to invert the firewire cables thinking that those could have defects, but both cables are PERFECT. The problem seems to come from the U A16, but I'm not sure...

Anyone knows anything??? Can someone help me???

Configuration of the principal PC:

ASUS P4B266

P4 1.8a

WIN98 SE

512 DDR crucial

Ali . CHIEFTEC 340 W

I don't think using Caps Lock will make people read your topic faster of better or something like that....

Interesting. On the Zlink card + A16 Ultra we've been testing here, we were extremely impressed by the ease of sync, and the lack of any digital noise when there wasn't sync. Check your samplerate settings maybe, what kind of Firewire cables are you using? (Brand/length) Oh yeah and avoid caps because it definitely causes me to ignore the topic a bit more.

Isn't the samplerate automatic ? If the U A16 is in slave mode, is it the Power Pulsar the one that controls the synchronization??

I don't know the brand of the cables, but they are one meter long

Thanks

Do you have the extra power lead for your I/O daughterboard? Don't know if it's required w A16 cos A16 can work independently as patchbay (w/ it's own powersupply)

Luna 2496 needs the power lead between IDE power connector and Pulsar I/O board. Luna2496 has no own powersupply , iit is fed by the Z-Link cable. How about your A16?

The problem of the Synk Z-link is only via software (I think so).

For example:If I am in the Pulsar window without any other device open ( asio - Inferno - mixer ecc. ), the green light of the U A16 is turned on still. If I try to put in I/O HARDWARE - z-link A/B dest or z-link A/B source, also SCOPE analog source/dest; the green light disappears and the red light remains.

Thanks to all

Are you sure that you're using the "SCOPE" hardware i/o modules ?
Example: "Scope Z-Link Source", NOT "Pulsar Z-Link Source".
(Since the PowerPulsar is actually a Scope card).

Can you give a brand/length description of the zlink cables you're using? Where did you obtain them from?
