this is a multiband processor that can load
three stereo insert effects, one for band,
and another one for all the signal before the
stereo out.
it was intended mainly for compressors on the
single bands and an eq or dither or whatever
on the final stereo path.
of course it can be used also for any other
effect, like chorus on the upper freqs of a bass,
etc.

the important thing is that all the bands selected
in the 6 filters (3 x channel) and sent to the
processors are removed from the global signal using
phase cancellation, using ring modulators fed with a
-64 fixed value (to invert the signals) and adding those inverted
portions to the main input signal. the result is a residual sound
that will be added to the three bands after processing, to put back
what was filtered out.

the filters cutoffs are stereo linked using costant values to feed c.f.mod
inputs set to the max, while cutoff knob is at the minimum.

the two presets included were made loading three stereo compressors
in the individual slots, i load them from F: , i hope they load anyway,
and are two different attempts to compress the mix of the demo song of cubase.

this patch requires ver.3 sw. and yes, it does not save itself with the loaded
pulsar compressors, so you have to make presets and then empty the slots before
saving the patch.

its good to see another find use for inversion

i am not sure i understand just exactly their purpose from your explanation. is it just to make room in the final mix for the effected copies?

if you mix a signal with the same signal inverted you have the total cancellation of the signal itself.

if you want to take a part of the signal for processing, for example the bass freqs as filtered from a lowpass and you want to mix this part again with the remaining part of the signal, you will have to isolate also the remaining part, otherwise in the mix you will add processed low freqs with original low frequencies.

considering also the fact that we have filters and not crossovers, if you just split the signal between three filters you will have the loss of all the part of the signal that is not passed through the filters.

so, if you remove the filtered freqs. from the main signal, mixing the signal with the inverted versions of what is passed by the filters, you will add them after processing, thus getting a correct result. the nice thing is that you don't have to loose your head with filter crossfades and such impossibile tasks, you can be sure that whatever are filter settings (of course resonance is not considered to be other than 0) you will have the surgical removal from the source of what you will add processed at the end.
