Is Osiris ,which as I understand is a part of tripledat,a good tool to eliminate noise from old tapes that have to be remastered for CD release.
I have samplitude 6,03 with noiseredution ,
will i gain to get tripledat. Is it still
only 16bits 44Khz?
Thanks in advance

Osiris is an excellent noise reduction app, as well as a state of the art declick and decrackle for vinyl restoration. I do some work for a guy who's got the full Cedar restoration hardware (over $25,000 worth), and Osiris does a comparable job.
Osiris also comes with a terrific subbass enhancer and harmonic "Xciter" which do wonders with dynamically squashed, frequency reduced tape material.

Oh yeah, Tripledat is only 16 bit, but my favorite CD mastering program.

How does it osiris work? How is hiss from tapes removed? Is it the

Yes, broadband noise is removed using a noise profile, with three sliders for Threshold, Detection, and Reduction. With careful adjustment of these you can achieve substantial removal of tape hiss or equivalent background noise, without adding any audio artifacts.

To my ears the best Noise Reduction tool available is Noise-reduction from Sound Forge. It really is good but somehow expensive.
