Hi (i have tried in p-s with no luck).
In my band we use Pulsar2 with Cubase. We use Cubase in live sessions with new songs and projects for each Song. This works fine...our problem is this : every time we want to play a new song we have to close cubase, then open a new project in Pulsar (3.01) and then open cubase again (the next song) - this is not too good in live situations because of the long waiting...

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to speed this process up...is it for example possible to have multiple project open at the same time and then make "keychange"?

Can we "convert" the projects to xtc and then only go with cubase? (We only want to create the projects in Pulsar)..

Thanx in advance..

Omnibounce.

You could work with XTC, but I would not do that if you always play in Pulsar OS. Go live with the setup you know and trust.

I made a project which I've kinda made for that, it's in the Projects Forum. I load the I/O's, and a PulsarMixer. By loading new presets for the mixer, I load new projects. That doesn't work with synths and some fx (which cannot be inserted in Mixer) though...

That's the best I can think of too: various presets on the mixer and then drop in new synths by selecting from the list and holding down the Ctrl key to keep the cable connections.

Depending on exactly how and what you play you might also consider dumping the PulsarMixer and instead using several ModV2 units. One could be an effects unit where each preset called in a different bank of stereo presets and also changed the routings within the module. You'd need to use the 8-in 8-out module for this to be most effective.

I know your pain. I used to tape-load a drum machine live: it was scary

Hey Spirit,

I heard something 'bout that drag'n'drop devices (ie.synths) which would replace them, keeping the connections.
Could sommeone clarify this for me please? I tried to do that a couple of times in different ways, but I always just added the new dev like when loading it normally...
Thanks.

Let's say you've got a synth wired up in the usual way and want to replace it...

Select your new synth from the list with the mouse, drag the mouse pointer directly on top of the old synth, hold down the Ctrl key, then release the left mouse button.

The new synth loads in place, keeping all the established connections.

Not sure when the audio stream cuts out and the new one starts...

Hi guys.

Thank you - it seems that we just have to live with this waiting and restarting cubase...damn

No answers regarding the "conversion" questions - why is that?

You'll have to manually convert, by creating an 'XTC project' from inside your VST host, the XTC projects cannot be opened from the Pulsar OS.

Presets from OS and XTC projects are the same. Use them

To Spirit: thanks a lot, that did the job!
