I notice something ,i can not start my mac (for pc i don't know)on an external firewire
disk. The operating system has to be on a
internaly connected disk.A friend of mine has confirm that to me.I thought it is useful to know for apple systems.I profit of this topic to ask if somebody know if i say right or it exist a solution? For the rest of firewire technology i don't know.

The ZLink firewire connector CANNOT be use for ANYTHING else than Creamware devices. It use proprietary protocols. Use CANNOT plug a HD, or DVCam, or anything else!

Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing

Is FireWire good for HardDisk...???
the answer is YES!!.
I have a 40MB Glyph HardDisk, it is awesome!!
I use Cubase and I can use 24 tracks of Audio and the disk activity is no more than 40% of the Disk (play and record). I have a PC, so I had to get the FireWire Adapter, it takes an IRQ out of your sistem, but guess what?.. I can plug other 3 firewire devices on the same card , that means I save IRQ's after all.
