Yes, the new ones are shipped with the 3.0 software. That's what I got when I bought mine not long ago.
If you buy a used one, you might also have to pay for the upgrade, depending on when it was originaly bought.

Don't you mean ships with v3.01 (If you've got 3.1 tell us what it's like!)

CW OS updates are always free. New devices may cost some extra though!

If the OS upgrades from Creamware are free, why do they sell it for $89.78usd???
From what I can see on Creamware's site, an upgrade from 2.x to 3 will cost you.
So, if you buy a used card that originaly came with the 2.x OS(and wasn't upgraded...) you will have to pay for the V3 soft.

You can download any (standard) upgrade from
http://www.Creamware.de, for free. Yes, the ProPack does cost some €. But you must view the ProPack just like another add-on or plugin, like Mod2 is not included in the standard OS.
As per august 2001, new cards come with the Propack as a bonus. Older cards don't have that Propack registration standard.
I repeat, Pulsar OS updates are FREE!

well.... the new luna os had additional functionality in v3 so the upgrade costs $90.
except for the use of the plugs, the only difference between v2.5 and v3 is win2k drivers.the 2k drivers are free.new luna cards come with v3.(soon to be 3.1 which WILL be free.)

OK, thanks for your replying... i'm going to buy (and soon i'll have 7 DSPs)
thanks to the fact that the board i'm about to buy is not equipped with 3.0 software, i'm going to spare some money

I'm thinking the Luna software will be discontinued and they will charge for a surround mixer once the Scope Fusion 3.1 platform comes out. Aftet that version they will ether charge us all for upgrades or charge nobody. I'm guessing we will all have to start paying eventually.

Yes, I'm wondering how much longer pulsar users will get upgrades for free! Mind you, this is not a gripe. I'm amazed I've got this far from v1.2 without having to pay

1.

PRO: Yes, and consider what was the v1.2 able (or wasn't able) to do (comparing to the 3.01!!!)
2.

CON: The v1.2 was very buggy...

Version 3.00 or later OS is needed to get the 3.1 software. But ofcoarse you got that with your Pulsar1
So Luna-only users still on 2.5 will have to buy the update to get the 3.1.
