Hello,
I am looking at incorporating a bit of video and 3D animation with the pulsar and am trying to find a card to capture video and something that may have some 'dsp' for 3D rendering too. Are there any audio/video pulsar users here w/ some cool suggestions?
Thanks
Ora

Try the Pinnacle stuff, I have had good results with a few of their different cards - they even have an accelerated card called DV500+ check that one out. Even the DC10 was a good (analog) video capture card.

If you have a couple of buck extra, take a close look at RT2500 from MAtrox... They are doing video for professional for a long time now... Even the entry level Marvel G450 is very very good... Real time editing inside Adobe premiere... Dual head capability to edit in Adobe premiere on first screen and see realtime on a tv monitor the result... Hardware encoding, so fullscreen (720x480), full frame (30fps) 10:1 lossless compression. This is as good as it gets.

And with RT2500, you have a bunch of realtime effects that are calculated in the hardware, no CPU at all. It's like DSP for Videos!

And it come with Adobe Premiere 'Realtime' version, FULL.

I very highly recommend the Osprey range of analog capture cards, especially the Osprey 210. These are top quality capture options but are cheap. Whatever you do do not go for some cheesey USB device with a smiling model on the cover, or other home bargain capture card. You will get nothing but grief.

Here's the Osprey link:

Does the Pinnacle and the osprey cards have the same type 'dual head' capability similar to the matrox RT2500?

Osprey cards are capture only - video and audio + streaming. Check the site. Cheap plus top quality, no consumer gimmicks.
