hello,

can anybody allay my deep anxiety?

i'm close to selling my ESI2000 sampler and 01V mixer to finance an upgrade to PulsarII plus A16 ultra.

my hope is that i'll be able to replace the 01V with A16->PulsarMixer and the ESI2000 with STS3000. i'm tempted by all the creamware advantages (esp. high sound quality, and space-saving) .

however, a recent look at somebody's system got me worried about the required DSP.

does anyone know:: will a single pulsarII card running on a >1GHz PC have enough power to run a realtime A16->PulsarMixer combo simultaneously with a fully loaded STS3000?

if yes, is there any chance that i'd have spare DSP for some basic reverb, chorus, and delay busses, maybe some insert effects?

getting twitchy... if one card doesn't have the grunt i'm prolly better off keeping the sampler + 01V.

I have a Luna card and I can load one sts3000 at 19 voice of polyphony+one masterverb. I can go to 31 voices without the reverb, but there comes the volkszampler! It's a vst version of the sts3000 which will come in full version with the new cw package to be released in march. With it I can free some dsp space to load other devices. There are good vst plug-ins which you can use in combination with the cw compatible ones...

I suggest that you do a thorough research on the good mobo and chipset to buy not to get surprises, if you don't already own a pc...

Good luck... btw, I started a thread on sampler config in tips and tricks, see you there!

With 7DSPs (luna+Pulsar1) a lot PulsarMixer, STS3000 with 32 voices and more than 300mb of samples, and use 4 aux busses (delay, chorus, flanger, reverb) and i ALWAYS put some compression + SPL Transient Designer(this one is very cool) on drum, plus compression & PEQ on bass, DSP load is at about 90%...

Using Asio2 16bits, 44.1khz, all 8 bus wired to asio, and 8 asio source for mixing vst instruments from logic... But i have the Luna IOBox, not the A16... It not using DSP though, or so little...
