which XP version is it recommendable to choose? Is it worth investing money to replace Win98 with XP?

Thanks in advance

AFAIK the main difference between Home and Professional, is that Professional supports dual CPU m/boards, and it has extra networking capabilities. Personally I'll be getting the Home edition as the Pro ver doesn't offer me anything that I require.
Win XP is definately the future for audio PC's. All the major players either already have, or soon will have XP compliant programs available. I use Logic Audio which is only a week or 2 away from the next version (v5), this is the first version that will officially run on XP.
If you buy XP you won't be wasting money......BUT......you may have to be a bit patient untill both your programs & hardware is fully supported in XP.

Yes, a good idea is to go to your devices sites and check for XP/2k support before you upgrade. If it's still in bèta, check the forums

XP home is fine for most; Pro adds very little for the musician with the main thing being dual processor support, more networking features, and the integrated Internet Information Services...

98/ME are still better in many ways, but in another couple months XP will be standard even in niche markets like music.
